Holy freaking wow.
How Saffron manages to weave such raw, intricate, steamy, and emotional stories time and time again is the question of the year. This story absolutely blew me away.
Age gaps of this size tend to be a taboo subject for some, but not for me. I’m alllll about it and ate this story alive, like my life depended on it. I thought about it constantly. Talked about it constantly. Recommended it to everyone that would listen. This is quite possibly my favorite Saffron book followed by Medicine Man by a split hair.
Saffron integrates mental health into her stories in such a real and very important way. She doesn’t sugar coat, she doesn’t gloss over it. She shows the gritty, dirty, and scary parts of it, and that’s something that I really appreciate.
I don’t want to reveal too much because I think everyone should experience this book as blindly possible, so I’ll leave you with a few bullet points.
1) Violet and Graham are dysfunctional, out of the ordinary, and sometimes frustrating, but that makes them all the more special.
2) This book is so good that you will devour it in no time.
3) Go in with an open mind and enjoy the tale being laid out in front of you.
4) Have lots of batteries or a free hand. Just sayin’.
